Best rooftop bars in London summer 2019

Summer is finally here and where better to enjoy spectacular panoramic views of London than its best rooftop bars. Take a look at our top 10 spots for enjoying sunset views with a drink in hand.

Bussey Rooftop Bar, Peckham

Once synonymous with Del Boy and Rodney, Peckham is now the place to be when it comes to eclectic rooftop bars. Just a short distance away from Peckham Rye Rail Station, you’ll find Bussey Rooftop Bar, a beautiful open-air venue identifiable by wooden beams adorned with flowers, lights and pink Persian rugs. Feeling hungry? Find RockaDollar on the rooftop serving up burgers and hotdogs as well as vegan and vegetarian options. But the fun doesn’t stop there, find the Rooftop Film Club next door, kicking off this summer with a screening of ‘Bring It On’, complete with a Big Red Cocktail and real-life cheerleaders. P.S. you can also bring your dog.

Savage Garden, Pepys Street

A newcomer to London’s sky-high scene, Savage Garden is 12 floors above the Hilton in Tower Hill and offers “jaw dropping views, dramatic cocktails and savage menus”. The décor inside is truly spectacular, think brutal yet beautiful, but equally dramatic are the views outside. Grab a Flambard Colada, inspired by the Tower of London’s first prisoner and escapee Ranulf Flambard and take in panoramic views over the city. If you’re hungry, the food is just as creative and exciting as the drinks, it’s like eating and drinking works of art.

Culpeper Roof Garden, Commercial Street

Relax in the beautiful green space that is the Culpeper Roof Garden, a vegetable haven in the concrete jungle of London, Commercial Street specifically. The beauty of this bar is that what is being grown next to you will eventually end up on your plate, or the plate of someone else if you just fancy a drink. This summer there will be a heavy focus on English wines as the rooftop bar is returned to its modest, rustic aesthetic with the addition of some very aesthetically pleasing grape vines, so cheers to that.
