Bristol restaurants and cafes

Bristol is a foodie gem with a host of fantastic restaurants, bistros, cafes and pubs and here are some of the best places to eat. Bristol’s twinkling Harbourside is a favourite dining spot. Of the independent restaurants, you can enjoy delicious tapas in cosy surroundings with great waterside views from The Olive Shed. The arty Watershed venue also has a thriving warehouse-style cafe-bar overlooking the Harbourside and five minutes’ walk away, funky Steak of the Art is a stylish steak restaurant and cocktail bar.

It’s in the Old City that you’ll find Dhamaka, a casual Indian restaurant with a small-plate approach inspired by street food. Nearby is the Irish, family-friendly Birkett Tap, which opens for breakfast, grills and comfort food including hand-stretched sourdough stone-baked pizzas, burgers, and vegetarian/vegan options such as chilli. For an incredible choice of international flavours all in one location, however, you can’t beat lunch at St Nicholas Market on Corn Street.
