County Donegal nightlife venues

Whether you’re looking for live entertainment or just somewhere with a lively atmosphere, Donegal can deliver a memorable night out and here is some of the best nightlife. Simpson’s in Carndonagh has a club that is geographically top of the island. You get the eclectic musical taste of resident DJ Darren B Trolley, plus a dance floor that lights up your moves. In Letterkenny, the biggest town and therefore club central in Donegal, there’s the Voodoo Venue for great cocktails and mighty craic. At the big Pulse Venue club that’s making Letterkenny’s night-time happening, you have the choice of six rooms, nine bars and lots of styles to enjoy and the evening starts at 11pm and another popular Letterkenny’s venue is Milan Nite Club.

Moving on to Bundoran, the Cellar Bar and Plaza a great late-night venue for the over-25s. There are four areas to hang in, with regular live bands in the main bar on Saturday, the prettiest drinks in Olive’s Cocktail Bar, and Secrets VIP area for your special occasion. At the Reel Inn, Donegal Town, you’ll get the full Irish pub experience bar none. There is live Irish traditional music here seven nights a week all through the year. Created by musicians John McMenamin and his partner Denise Doherty, you’ll hear the real folk sound of Ireland in its attractive bars. Expect the bodhran (drum), accordions, fiddles aplenty and a real joie de vivre. The Corner House in Ardara has a similar philosophy and proud history and Logue’s Bar in Carrigart is another find.
