5 to try – Dumfries and Galloway restaurants

Dumfries and Galloway has an excellent reputation for high-quality restaurants and these are some of the best places to eat out. Carlo’s in Castle Douglas may be small but it is extremely popular, with Italian cuisine, seasonal produce and food fresh from the nearby seas is a speciality. Nikos Greek Restaurant is named after chef/owner Nikos Apostolakis, from Crete, who holidayed in Dumfries and Galloway, fell in love with the area and moved here in 2006. Scottish Pantry, another family-run cafe/restaurant, sources much of its produce locally.
