The Lowry offers a year-round programme of world-class theatre, opera, musicals, dance, music, comedy, digital and visual art. As a registered charity, at the heart of what they do is a commitment to the local communities – especially young people. Tapping into the work on the stages and in the galleries, they connect with thousands of people through creative participation each year, including some of the most vulnerable in society. The Lowry is also passionate about nurturing talent and growing the creative leaders of the future.
As well as incredible theatre – working with partner companies such as the National Theatre – The Lowry offers an inspiring and challenging programme of contemporary visual and digital art from around the world, as well as being the home to the largest collection of paintings and drawings by LS Lowry in the world, showcasing some of the renowned Salford artist’s most famous and important work and celebrating the region’s social and industrial heritage alongside some of his more diverse and innovative work.
