The Nene Whitewater Centre was the UK’s first pumped, artificial whitewater course. Three pumps control the flow of water down the 300-metre whitewater course allowing the centre to alter the course’s difficulty and the skill levels required to paddle it.
The centre building has changing rooms and showering facilities, a cafeteria, a lift and rooms suitable for both social events and conference bookings. It has ample onsite parking for customers and is wheelchair accessible throughout.
Nene Whitewater Centre is also run as a not for profit community resource by Clubs for Young People Northamptonshire (CYPN), who aim to enable and educate young people through their leisure time activities, whilst providing advice and guidance to promote good quality youth work programmes within the county.
