Shropshire shopping

Shopping in Shropshire is as varied as the county itself and here are some of the best places to shop. The best-known retail destination is the Telford Centre, one of the UK’s biggest covered shopping malls featuring fashion and beauty, food and homewares.

Right outside the Centre’s doors is Southwater leisure plaza with restaurants, an IMAX Cineworld, ice rink and Tenpin bowling alley. The centre itself boasts more than 150 stores including favourites like Zara, H&M, Next and M&S.

With independent shops, two shopping centres, endless boutiques and market stalls hidden within medieval streets, Shrewsbury has something for everyone. Majors is the oldest retailer in Shrewsbury, selling high-quality brands of ready-to-wear clothing for men and women.

Take a wander up Wyle Cop to discover the longest row of independent shops and call in at Tanner’s Wine Merchants, a family-run independent wine merchants. And if you want a bit of fresh air try one of Shropshire’s street markets, there’s one in virtually every town and others have farmers’ markets and regular arts and craft fairs too.
