Getting here
By road
Dundee and Angus is served by an excellent network of roads and visitors have a choice of fast travel via motorway or dual carriageway links or the more relaxing tourist trails through Angus, Fife and Perthshire.
By rail
Dundee’s modern city centre station is served by the East Coast line from London, which continues from Dundee to Aberdeen. Railway station stops are provided at Carnoustie, Arbroath and Montrose and local commuter trains run regularly from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Perth. Travel via East Coast Rail directly to Dundee
By air
Dundee is little more than an hour’s drive from Aberdeen, Edinburgh, and Glasgow airports, which all offer extensive services throughout Britain, Europe and beyond. If you are travelling by air, Dundee Airport is a few minutes drive from the city centre, and offers daily flights direct to London Stansted by Flybe. Getting around
The city of Dundee makes a great base as it is easy to travel by road and by public transport to the surrounding area and other regions. Visit north Angus and even Aberdeen by travelling north up the A90, head west on the A90 to the new city of Perth, east on the A92 to south Angus, or south on the A92, across the Tay Road Bridge, to Fife.
Travel easily to Dundee, Angus and Perthshire via road
In addition to the main roads, an alternative route well worth considering is the Angus Coastal Route which takes you along the shore from Dundee and up to picturesque seaside resorts such as Montrose. Car parking is plentiful in Angus, and all Angus Council car parks are free of charge. There is also plenty of information about parking in and around Dundee on the Dundee city site. By bus
Local bus services run across Dundee, Angus and into the neighbouring regions of the Kingdom of Fife and Perthshire. Information on services can be found on the Dundee Traveline site as well as on leaflets and departure boards throughout the area.

By rail
The main train station is located in Dundee, with smaller stations in many Angus towns. Getting to and from the stations is easy with many taxi ranks or bus routes passing nearby. The East Coast main line runs through Angus and the coastal towns of Montrose, Arbroath, Carnoustie and Monifieth, before reaching Dundee.
