Belgrade Theatre is Coventry’s main hub for live entertainment and produces a varied programme of stand-up comedy, film, theatre and music. It opened in opened in 1958 and soon gained widespread recognition for its new company, which included members such as Ian McKellen, Trevor Nunn, Joan Plowright, and Michael Crawford.
The Grade II listed building has a capacity of more than 800, and acts as both a producing and receiving theatre for the local people. Having been the first civic theatre to be built after World War II, the venue is seen as a symbol of prosperity following the major damage caused to the city because of bombing.
FarGo Village, Far Gosford St, Coventry CV1 5ED
FarGo is an artistically re-purposed industrial space in Coventry City Centre, designed exclusively for creative, independent businesses and like-minded visitors. Located on Far Gosford Street, a recently regenerated area with a rich cultural heritage.
We have an eclectic mix of more than 40 independent businesses based here, including a dedicated street food hall. We have flexible outdoor and indoor event spaces, available to hire for charity, community, corporate, and family events. We organise at least 25 events per year, ranging from Vegan Markets to Peace Forums, Cheese Festivals to Vintage Home shows, working in partnership with charities and organisations from across the area.
