Dumfries Museum and Camera Obscura

Dumfries Museum promises a fascinating free day out for all. Watch out for fossilised animal footprints, caveman weapons, and Victorian household objects. Visit the world’s oldest working Camera Obscura on the top floor too, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of Dumfries and the surrounding countryside.
Southerness Beach

Southerness Beach, Dumfries DG2 8AX
If you’re looking to relax while the little ones play, Southerness Beach is the answer. It’s sandy, beautiful and you can bring the whole family, even your four-legged friend! If you visit during low tide, you’ll find fun rock pools with all sorts of exciting creatures, and it’s a beautiful place too so make sure you take some snaps for Instagram.
