An abundance of inspiration for delightful days out
From Harry Potter to history, Roman remains to nature reserves, gorgeous gardens to gliding – whatever takes your fancy, Hertfordshire has an abundance of inspiration for delightful days out. One of Hertfordshire’s relatively new days out, but by far one of the most popular, the Warner Bros. Studio Tour – The Making of Harry Potter, attracts millions of visitors a year, so make sure you book early.
Hertfordshire also boasts rambling country estates, orderly garden towns and cathedral cities. The county is packed with historical interest and you will hear stories of majestic castles dotted across the rolling landscape. Span centuries in St Albans’ Roman amphitheatres and Norman cathedrals or visit Jacobean manors with mazes and gothic courts encrusted with gargoyles.
This home county hasn’t forgotten its shopaholics either, with outlet malls and new towns aplenty. Foodies are also well catered for in Hertfordshire and many establishments pride themselves on sourcing as much local produce as possible too.
